Bankruptcy for Individuals and Spouses

Bankruptcy Lawyer Filing Individual and Joint Consumer Bankruptcy Cases

Assisting individual persons and married couples file bankruptcy is a core service of our firm. We offer free consultations, where will we discuss each individual's circumstances and whether bankruptcy would be an effective option for addressing debt issues. Those who file bankruptcy will most often file under either chapter 7 or chapter 13 of the bankruptcy code. Under both chapters, a husband and wife have the option to file a single joint case, although they are not required to do so. Our why file bankruptcy section contains more information about the reasons consumers file bankruptcy.

Our bankruptcy attorney, Erich Fabricius, is a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, demonstrating his commitment to practicing with the highest levels of professionalism while advancing the goals of people filing bankruptcy to obtain relief from their consumer debts. Erich stays informed of developments in consumer bankruptcy, and is willing to accept difficult and complex cases. If necessary, he will litigate unresolved legal questions on behalf of his clients.

We will not recommend bankruptcy for a consumer when, in our opinion, another option may be more suitable to address a person's immediate debt concerns. In particular, we always evaluate if a collection defense strategy can be effective. However, we believe that debt consolidation and debt settlement firms are almost never an advisable debt strategy.
